Language Strategies to Covey Ideology in The Textbook of Basic Thai Language Courses Elementary School According to The Basic Education Core Curriculum B.E. 2551
Abstract:
The objective of this research was to analyze language strategies to covey ideology in the textbook of basic Thai language courses elementary school according to the Basic Education Core Curriculum B.E. 2551. With the concept of Critical Discourse Analysis of Norman Fairclough (Norman Fiarclough) by presenting a descriptive analysis. The results of the analysis of language strategies to convey ideology in the textbook of the basic Thai language course found that language strategies used to convey ideology to children. It consists of 7 language strategies were as follows: Lexical choices, Modality, Referencing, Reasoning, Rhetorical, Multivoicedness and Topics. The analysis of the ideology that appeared in the textbook of the basic Thai language course found that good children's ideology and poor children's ideology. That was to say, the ideal of good children will look like a desirable person with behavioral characteristics, thoughts and beliefs. The five areas of good deeds are gratitude, diligence and determination to study, generosity, honesty and knowing how to save. The ideology of a poor children was characteristic of undesirable person. There were four bad behavioral traits: theft behavior, behavioral aspects related to drugs, inattentive to study behavior and aggressive behavior disobedience.
