Abstract:
The objectives of this study were to investigate: 1) the levels of work motivation and employees job performance at Home Product Center Public Company Limited, 2) personal factors impacting on job performance of employees at Home Product Center Public Company Limited and 3) the relationship between work motivation and job performance of employees at Home Product Center Public Company Limited.
The sample group used in this study comprised 324 employees of Home Product Center Public Company Limited based at the companys headquarters. The instrument used to collect data was a questionnaire. Statistical methods used to analyze the data were descriptive statistics: frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and inferential statistics: independent sample t-test, one - way ANOVA and Pearson correlation coefficient for hypothesis testing.
The finding revealed that overall dimensions of work motivation and employee job performance were rated at a high level. Differences in the personal factors of gender, age, educational level, and length of service did not affect the employees job performance while differences in marital status and monthly income demonstrated differences in job performance of employees at Home Product Center Public Company Limited at a statistically significant level of 0.05. Additionally, it was found that the overall dimensions of motivation factor and maintenance factor both correlated with job performance of employees at Home Product Center Public Company Limited at a statistically significant level of 0.01.
