Abstract:
ABSTRACT
This research aimed to: 1) study the level of transformational leadership of school administrators; 2) compare the transformational leadership of school administrators as classified by personal factors; and 3) study the guidelines for promoting and developing transformational leadership of administrators and teachers in the Network for Enhancing Efficiency of Special Education Center Group 5 under Special Education Bureau. The sample group that answered questionnaire was 144 administrators and teachers. derived by proportional stratified random sampling. and the group that collected by interviewed was 6 of school administrators.derived by purposive sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire constructed by the researcher. Data were analyzed with frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way analysis of variance, and content analysis.
The findings of the research showed that:
Overall and in specific aspects, the transformational leadership of school administrators was at a high level.The aspects were individualized consideration, inspiration motivation, Idealized influence, and intellectual stimulation.
School administrators with different gender, age, academic standing, school size, and work experience had a different level of transformational leadership with statistical significance level at .05.
The guidelines for promoting and developing transformational leadership of administrators are as follow they should have skills in problem analysis, reasoning, being role models in work, and developing guidelines for working practices. For teachers development, they should be aware of their own performance. School administrators give teachers the opportunity to develop themselves to their full potential, and inspire and motivate themselves to work actively and attentively.
