Effect of the appreciation influence control workshop on knowledge and awareness regarding food sanitation of food handlers in restaurants in Nakhon pathom municipality, Nakhon pathom province
Abstract:
The objectives of this two-groups quasi-experimental research were to study the effects of a participatory process training program on food handlers knowledge and awareness about food sanitation. The study sample were 60 restaurant food handlers in Nakhon Pathom Municipality. They were equaly assigned in to an experimental and a comparison group. The experimental group samples were required to attend a workshop training program that participatory process based on Participation Process concepts were applied to enhance their knowledge and awareness about food sanitation. While the comparison group samples did not receive any intervention activity. Data was collected before and after experiment from both the experimental and the comparison group. Data was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed that after the experiments, the average knowledge score of the experimental group increased from 63.8% to 82.4%, was statistically significant at least 0.05. Whereas the comparison groups knowledge was reduced from 58.5% to 56.9%. There was no significant in increased knowledge (p>0.05). The knowledge of food handlers, experimental groups, and comparison groups was significantly different at .05 level. And the experimental group had an average score of 39.87, increasing to 46.67. There was a statistically significant increase at .05. Comparison groups awareness mean score was reduce from 33.67 to 33.53 found to be significantly higher (p>0.05). There was a statistically significant difference in the perception of food handlers in the experimental group and in the control group.
