Abstract:
The research aimed 1) to study the administrative states of the schools during the ASEAN participation period of the schools under the Office of the Jurisdiction of the Secondary Educational Service Area 29, 2) to compare the administrative states of the schools as classified by educational qualification, working experience and school size, and 3) to investigate the problems and guidelines to solve the problems of the administrative states of the schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area 29.The samples used in the research were directors and deputy directors totaling 211 of the secondary schools under the Office of the Secondary Educational Service Area 29. The research instrument was a questionnaire with a confidence value equivalent to 1.00. It was divided into three sections: general information, operation according to the standard of the secondary schools, and a study of the problems and guidelines. Statistics used in data analysis were frequency, percentage, means, standard deviation, t-test and Scheffes paired method.
The research findings were as follows:
1. Concerning the administrative states of the schools during their ASEAN participation period, it was found that the administration was ranked at a very good level as far as the individual items were concerned.
2. With the administrative states compared, it was found that the administrative states during the ASEAN participation period of the schools under the Office of the Secondary Educational Service Area 29 as classified by educational qualification, working experience, and school size were not different.
3. An analysis of the problems and guidelines showed the following.
3.1 The problems could be classified as follows: 1) academic administration in terms of an ASEAN curriculum was not clearly expounded as personnel lacked an understanding of the ASEAN curriculum, 2) it became difficult to get the personnel capable of or well-equipped with a foreign language.
3.2 The guidelines to solve the problems related to the administrative states were as follows: 1) it was necessary to prepare the personnel and make them well informed of the curriculum, 2) the capable personnel should be provided by the agencies concerned.
