Abstract:
The objective of this research examined the characteristic in using social media technology and teachers teaching skill. The researcher developed 20 items of a questionnaire and collected 140 respondents of science teachers of office of the secondary educational service area 29. The statistical analysis are frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Chi-Square correlation analysis, and variance analysis. The results found that the characteristic in using social media technology such as YouTube, google contributed 25%, 23.6%, respectively. The using of platforms in terms of google classroom, YouTube demonstrated 47.9%, 28.4% respectively. Besides, social media usage also shows that 53.6% of the teachers, used every day and 32.1% used 3 hours per day. The mean of teachers teaching skill contributed high level except the mean of the open skill demonstrated highest level. 86% of the possibility of working duration and income per month might predict teachers teaching skill at R2.29.
