Abstract:
This research aimed 1) to analyze the item quality of Pre O-NET examination, 2) to constructthe Pre O-NET item bank, 3) to develop a computerized adaptive testing program for Pre O-NET of Prahomsuksa 6 ; and 4)to investigate the satisfaction towards the use of the computerized adaptive testing program for Per O-Net ofPrathomsuksa 6.The computerized adaptive testing program was developed as a web application. Item quality of Pre O-NET examination was assessed using 3-parameter logistic Item Response Theory. The research methods of this study were divided into 4 steps: 1) Analyze the item quality of Pre O-NET examination in 4 learning areas, 2) Construct the Pre O-NET item bank in 4 learning areas, 3) Develop the computerized adaptive testing program and 4) Evaluate the users satisfaction of computerized adaptive testing program. The sample was 91Prathomsuksa 6 students studying in second semester of academic year 2018 which divided into 37 students fromBankrasungsamakkeeSchool Buriram and 54 students from Watbankhocklek School Buriram.
The results were as follows :
1. Analysis of the Pre O-NET items quality for Prathomsukas 6 level in 4 learning areas showed that the mean of discrimination parameter (a), difficulty parameter (b),and guessing parameter (c) were equal to 1.82, 2.18, and 0.19 respectively. These results indicated that the items inPre O-NET item bank were very difficult.
2. The Item bank was able to accept unlimitedamount of 4 multiple choice items depending on the size of the server. The Pre O-NET Item bank consisted of 575 items which were analyzed by 3-Parameter Item Response Theory. These items met the selection criteria of all 4 learning areas for grade six level.
3. The computerized adaptive testing program for Pre O-NET of Prathomsuksa 6 students was appropriate at the highest level which was also accepted by the experts and the sample users with a high suitability level.
