The study on needs for self-development of the teachers in occupation and technology learning area in private school under the district educational office in prachuap khiri khan province
Abstract:
The purposes of this research were; 1) to examine the needs for self-development of the teachers in Occupation and Technology Learning area in private schools under the district educational office in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, 2) to compare the needs for self-development of the teachers in Occupation and Technology learning area in private schools under the district educational office in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province classified by gender, age, educational degree, teaching experiences and size of school. The population was 213 teachers in Occupation and Technology learning area in private schools under the district educational office in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province The research instrument were checklist, rating scale and open-ended questionnaire. The statistics used for data analysis were percentage, mean, and standard deviation.
The findings were as follows:
1. The needs for self-development of the teachers in Occupation and Technology learning area in the private schools under the district educational office in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province both as a whole and each aspect were at high level (µ = 4.42, SD = 0.23). The aspects ranked from the highest to the lowest mean scores were salary, advancement, work itself, achievement, works conditions, recognition, interpersonal relation with superior, responsibility, company policy and administration, interpersonal relation, respectively
2. The results of comparison of the needs for self-development in Occupation and Technology learning area in the private schools under the district educational office in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province in term of gender between male and female, they were found that the average of male (µ = 4.44) was higher than female(µ = 4.42), in term of educational degree between bachelor degree and higher than bachelor degree, they were found that the average of higher than bachelor degree (µ = 4.48) was higher than bachelor degree (µ = 4.41), in term of teaching experience between less than 5 years and more 5 years, they were found that the average of teaching experience less than 5 years (µ = 4.43) was higher than teaching experience more 5 years (µ = 4.42). In term of age among less than 25 years, 26-35 years, 36-45 years and higher
46 years, they were found that the average of the teachers who were 36-45 years (µ = 4.46) was higher than higher 46 years (µ = 4.45), less than 25 years (µ = 4.40) and 26-35 years (µ = 4.39) respectively. In term of size of school, the small size of private school, the middle size of private school and the large size of private schools, they were found that the average of the teachers who work in the middle size of private schools (µ = 4.46) was higher than the large size of private schools (µ = 4.44) and the small size of private schools (µ = 4.34) respectively.
