Abstract:
The purposes of this study were to investigate the needs of university officials for
fringe benefit management provided by Burapha University and to compare their level of needs as
classified by personal factors. The data were collected by a questionnaire completed by 360
university officials. The statistical tests used to analyze the collected data included frequency,
percentage, mean, standard deviation, a test of t-test, and one-way ANOVA. The test of Scheffe
was also used to analyze the differences between pairs.
The results of the study revealed that the subjects showed their needs for fringe
benefits provided by Burapha University at a high level. When considering each aspect, the one
in relation to security building was rated with the highest mean, followed by the aspects of health
and hygiene, economy, recreation, social welfare, and education, respectively. When having
their needs ranked, the aspect of security building was ranked the highest, followed by the ones
in relation to health and hygiene, economy, education, recreation, and social welfare,
respectively. In addition, based on the results from the comparisons of the subjects needs as
classified by personal factors, it was shown that there were differences in the levels of needs
among the subjects with different gender, age, and marital status at a significant level of
.05 Finally, no differences were found in the level of needs of benefits management provided
by Burapha University among the subjects with different educational level, amount of monthly
salary, and work length.
