Abstract:
The objectives of this research were to study and to compare the general administrative roles of the basic education school committee in schools under Buriram primary educational service area office 2. The basic educational school committee was divided into 2 groups, the honor committee and the general committee. The general administrative roles were broken down into 7 roles. The sample consisted of 199 members of the basic education school committee selected by Proportional Stratified Random Sampling using the Krejcie & Morgan table. The instrument to gather data was a questionnaire with an overall reliability of 0.98. The statistical analysis included percentage, mean, and standard deviation, and t-test was used to test the hypothesis. The results were as follows: 1. The general administrative roles of the basic education school committee were at a high level, both overall and for each individual aspect. The role with the highest average level was the building aspect. The roles with the lowest average levels were academic support, budget, personnel, and general administration. 2. The overall general administrative roles of the basic education school committee in schools under Buriram Primary Educational Service Area Office 2 were significantly different at the 0.05 level for schools with different statuses. When considering each aspect individually, the only difference was for the aspect of administrative role. The honor committee obtained a higher value than the general committee did. The other six aspects were not different.
