The utilization of community learning resources in eastern bangkok metropolitan region to develop the learning activities plan of the learning area of social studies, religion and culture
Abstract:
The purposes of this research were;1) to survey and create a list of learning resources for the learning area of Social Studies, Religion and Culture at the lower secondary education level in the Eastern Bangkok Metropolitan Region, 2) to develop the learning activity plans of the learning area of Social Studies, Religion and Culture at the lower secondary education level by utilizing the community learning resources in the Eastern Bangkok Metropolitan Region. This research was the mixed methods approach: qualitative research designed by doing documentary survey, social media, interview with knowledgeable people.The quantitative research design was done by selecting the totalof 90 target groups used in the research, they were 1) the 30 students in grade 9 from Mattayom Watnongchok School, 30 students from Satri Settabut Bampen School, and 30 students from Debsirinromklao School. The research instruments were, 1) the records for documents and social media of the community learning resources, 2) a recording table of the community learning resources, 3) the interview questions for interview with the knowledgeable people in the community, 4) the 6 community learning activity plans, and 5) an achievement test. The data analysis on qualitative research was a content analysis for documents and interviews with knowledgeable people in the community. The statistics used for data analysis on quantitative research waspercentage.The results of the research indicated that; 1. There were 54documents relating to places and learning resources in the community and there were19 social media of community learning resources. The learning resources in the Nongchok community consisted of different types of 17 learning resources; 2 individual learning resources, 1 natural learning resource, and 14 man-made learning resources. The results of the learning resources surveyed in Min Buri District consisted of the following types of 13 learning resources; 3 individual learning resources, 0 natural learning resources, and 10 man-made learning resources. The results of the learning resources surveyed in Lat Krabang District consisted of the following types of 13 learning resources; that was, 1 individual learning resources, 1 natural learning resources and 11 man-made learning resources. Each of subject area of Social Studies, Religion and Culture in 3 Eastern Community of Bangkok Metropolitan was found that;1) there were 17 learning resources of Religion ,Moral and Ethics, 2) there were 18 learning resources of Civic duty, Culture and Ways of life, 3) there were 28 learning resources of Economics, 4) there were 28 learning resources of History, and 5) there were 18 learning resources of Geography.The total were 104 resoures. 2. The development of the learning activity plans of the learning area of Social Studies, Religion and Culture based on surveying learning resources in Bangkok Metropolitan in part 1consisted of6 learning activity plans; the first learning plan as the community learning resource (General knowledge), the second learning plan was the community learning resource (Religion moral and ethics), the third learning plan was the community learning resource (Civic duty, culture and ways of life), the fourth learning plan was the community learning resource (Economics), the fifth learning plan was the community learning resource (History), and the sixth learning plan was the community learning resource (Geography). The outcomes of implementing the learning activity plans those used the community learning resources of the learning area of Social Studies, Religion and Culture according to the assessment of 6 learning activity plans indicated the score of 4.0 level. The results reflect that the learning activity plans were at an excellent level in all 6 learning activity plans
