Abstract:
This research aimed to study the factors affecting the elderlys decision-making process of purchasing dietary supplements through social media. The sample in this study was 400 elderly people who used Facebook social media services. The questionnaire was used to examine the different demographic characteristics, behavior of using Facebook, motivation on Facebook, and risk perception, all of which affected the elderlys decision-making process of dietary supplements through Facebook social media. This would be a guideline for the business and the basic information to be used in the development of dietary supplement business for the elderly, and online and offline questionnaires were used as a tool to collect data. In addition, the data were analyzed by using statistical package. The results showed that most respondents were female customers whose average age was 60-65 years. Their monthly income was 15,001-35,000 baht. To their education, it was lower than a bachelor's degree. Most respondents had their own business. The average daily use of Facebook was between 30-60 minutes and the most common purpose was to access Facebook services for entertainment. There was a high level of motivation on Facebook on all aspects, including: reasoning, emotional, and product. Risk perception concerning financial and quality aspects was high. Risk perception concerning delivery, psychological and social aspects, was perceived at the moderate level. From the consumers responding to the questionnaire about the decision-making process of purchasing supplements through social media, it was found that Facebook Social media had high influence on their decision-making process
