Factors leading to successful implementation of one health startegy to address rabies (Rabies free zone) at Khao Sam Sip sub-district, Khao Chakan district, Sa Kaeo province
Abstract:
This research attempts to study factors leading to succeed the implementation of One Health strategy to solve rabies problem (Rabies free zone) and to establish a model using One Health strategy to solve rabies problem at Khao Sam Sip Sub-district, Khao Chakan District, Sa Kaeo Province. This qualitative research study collected the data from in-depth interview with 27 key informants including 14 three-level officers (from province, district and, sub-district), 13 residents from 4 villages. Leonards method was used to analyze the data to find the causes to link the relationship of the data. The findings reveal that key factors to succeed One Health strategy for the implementation at Khao Sam Sip Sub-district, Khao Chakan District, Sa Kaeo Province consist of 8 factors included 1) strength, 2) residents participation, 3) resource, 4) communication and public relation, 5) partners network, 6) knowledge support, 7) standard establishment in community and, 8) accessibility for healing. In addition, it was also found that the creation of model from successful implementation of One Health strategy at rabies free zone at Khao Sam Sip Sub-district, Khao Chakan District, Sa Kaeo Province can be existed from the cooperation of integrated network of three departments: public health, livestock development, local administration organization. The participation in all procedures and systematic operation with all related organizations can urge the awareness of the residents and related organization to prevent and control rabies in their safe zone
