Abstract:
The purposes of this study were to compare the concurrent validity, the reliability and the discrimination of multiple choice tests by five scoring methods; the conventional scoring method, the q scoring weight method, the Rasch model scoring weight method, the Coombs scoring method, and the applied Arnold scoring method. The subjects of this study were 283 mathayomsuksa III students attending Chuntarubeksa Anusorn school, Roi-et province in 1999 academic year. The study instruments were mathayomsuksa III mathematics achievement test 30 items on exponential.Tha results of this study were as follows:1. The concurrent validities calculated by five scoring methods werenot significantly different.2. The reliability calculated by the conventional scoring methods wassignificantly higher than the Rasch model scoring weight method and the Coombsscoring method at the .05 level, and the applied Arnold scoring method was significantly higher than the Rasch model scoring weight method at the .05 level3. The discrimination powers calculated by five scoring methods werenot significantly different.
