การเปรียบเทียบอัตราการกัดกร่อนของเหล็กโครงสร้างอาคารกับเหล็กที่เคลือบด้วยสังกะสีแบบต่างๆ

Abstract: Corrosion of metals is a major problem encountered in everyday life due to many reasons, such as lack of proper material selection, inappropriate as well as inadequate maintenance and corrosion protection. In Thailand, the cost of corrosion to the economy is not revealed. If it is assumed to be 1% of GNP, then it turns out to be 50,000 million Baht per annum. This research investigates corrosion protection and maintenance cost of structural steel using various methods of protection, namely, zinc-rich paint, hot-dip galvanizing, Zn-Al and Zn-Al-Mg coating. The corrosion behavior is studied using salt spray test according to ASTM B117 up to 600 hours; and the corrosion rates are compared with results from corrosion current measurement using a potentiostat. Finally, the maintenance costs of the 4 types of samples are discussed, taking into account a service life of 20 years.

Abstract: การกัดกร่อนของไลหะเป็นปัญหาส่วนใหญ่ที่เกิดขึ้นในปัจจุบัน โคยมีเหตุผลหลายประการ เช่น การขาคความรู้และประสบการณ์ในการเลือกใช้ชนิดของวัสดุให้เหมาะสมกับประเภทงาน, ขาดการบำรุงรักษาและการป้องกันการเกิดการกัดกร่อนที่ถูกต้องและเพียงพอ ในปัจจุบันการจัดทำงบประมาณค่าใช้ง่ายที่ใช้ในการรักษาและซ่อมบำรุงโครงสร้างอาคารเหล็กในประเทศไทย ยังไม่เป็นที่แพร่หลาย ในกรณีที่คิดเบื้องต้นว่างบประมาณในการซ่อมบำรุงโครงสร้างอาคารเหล็กเป็นเพียง 1 เปอร์เซ็นต์ของผลิตภัณฑ์ประชาชาติ (Gross National Product: GNP) ซึ่งหมายถึง ประเทศต้องใช้เงินเป็นจำนวน 5 หมื่นล้านบาทต่อปีในการซ่อมบำรุงโครงสร้างอาคาร ในวิจัยนี้ได้ทำการศึกษาการป้องกันการเกิดการกัดกร่อนของอาคารเหล็กโครงสร้างด้วยกรรมวิธีต่างๆ ได้แก่ การทาสีเหล็กโครงสร้างด้วยสีซิงค์ริช การเคลือบเหล็กโครงสร้างด้วยกระบวนยอทดิพกัลปัวาไนซ์. ซิงค์-อลูมิเนียม และซิงค์-อลูมิเนียม-เมกนีเซียม และได้ทำการศึกษาพฤติกรรมการเกิดการกัดกร่อนในการทดลองพ่นเหล็กโครงสร้างด้วยละอองเกลือ ( Salt Spray Testing) ซึ่งอ้างอิงตามมาตรฐาน ASTM 117 และทำการเปรียบเทียบกับข้อมูลที่ได้รับจากการทดลองการกัดกร่อนด้วยวิธี โพลาไรเซชั่น และในส่วนท้ายของการศึกษาจะทำการเปรียบเทียบราคาซ่อมบำรุงของเหล็กโครงสร้างซึ่งเคลือบด้วยกระบวนทั้ง 4 ประเกท โคยมีข้อกำหนดรวมระยะเวลาทั้งหมด 20 ปี
