Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to investigate the success factors for the commercial projects of
the public schools in the Eastern Region. The samples were selectively chosen in the Eastern Region because
the schools of the Eastern region started the projects two months before schools in other regions. Therefore,
there were complete data and samples. Mixed method of qualitative research, quantitative research and
comparison was used. For qualitative research, structured interviews were conducted. The sample size was 15
people. For quantitative research, survey was the method used to explore the success factors for the commercial
project of the public schools in the Eastern Region of Thailand. The samples consisted of 230 administrators
and teachers in public schools in the Eastern Region. Statistics used for the study consisted of frequency,
percentage, mean and standard deviation. Multiple regression analysis was determined at the statistical
significance level of 0.05 and the comparison method was the third step used for the study. The comparison
method used information system research to follow the success of the public schools in order to confirm the
results.
The findings of the research were as follows
1. Factors influencing the implementation of the project management process of the commercial
project in the public schools of the Eastern Region include 1) the basic factors of school administration which
were put in order from the most influential to the least influential and were as follows: learning achievement,
leadership and students features. 2) Factors that made it possible for students to compete with other schools
were put in order from the most influential to the least influential as follows: knowledge of numbers, finance
and accounting, and business administration. 3) Sustainable factors that made the project to move forward
(within 5 years after the completion of the project of the public schools which were put in order from the most
influential to the least influential as follows: Environmental, social, and economic aspects. 4) Factors of Value
chain implementation in the public school project which were put in order from the most influential to the least
influential as follows: management structure, after sales service, and input.
2. Factors influencing the achievement of the target of the commercial project of the public schools
in the eastern region were the management process. The factors were put in order from the most influential to
the least influential as follows: planning and design, project evaluation and project improvement.
