Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to propose model of professional football development in Thailand. Research procedures were consisted of the preliminary study to set research conceptual framework, the study of the current situation of professional football in Thailand, drafting the model, the study of the feasibility of the proposed model and the assessment procedures. Data collection were undertaken by means of document analysis, interviews, questionnaires and focus group. Frequencies, percentages, arithmetic means, standard deviations and t (t-test) were used to analyze the data. Major findings were as follows: The presentation of the proposed model of professional football development in Thailand which corresponded to Thailand context. The model was consisted of 4 main parts: 1) Introduction 2) Model of professional football development including: principles and objectives, environment, managerial functions (planning, organizing, leading and controlling), key success factors governmental policy, main organizations, (football association, organizing committee and football clubs), games management, professional football players, professional football personnel (coaches and referees), popularity and fan club, stadium and facilities, business and privilege income, media and public relations, law (rules and regulations) and welfare 3) model applicability 4) limited condition of the model.
