Attitudes and acceptance Thai undergradute students in private university towards racial and professional diversity : the free flow of skilled labor in AEC
Abstract:
The purposes of this study were to examine the attitudes and acceptance of Thai undergraduate students, in private university, towards: 1) racial and ethnic diversity in the context of an AEC Free Flow of Skilled Labors; 2) the Seven Skilled Labors in AEC; and 3) the national of origins of AEC members. Questionnaires were employed to collect data from 384 Thai undergraduate students from private universities. Cronbachs Alpha Coefficient was run to test the reliability, of the questionnaire items, with a value of .997. Descriptive Statistics was used to describe Frequency, Percentage, Means, Standard deviation, Skewness, and Kurtosis. Data obtained, then, was tested by Multivariate analysis of variance: 2 Way MANOVA. The findings revealed that there were statistically significant differences on Age, Faculty, University and the overall picture of the five components of the attitudes of Thai undergraduate students towards ethnic/racial and professional diversity of AEC, while Sex and Years in the University had no statistically significant differences. Finally, the positive attitudes towards otherness in AEC, among the undergraduate students in the private universities, have also been an indicator of how the awareness of being the effective members of the AEC was raised.
