Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to study the primary information and to develop the art activities area model that enhance enjoyment and creativity in the National Gallery. Phase 1: the primary data was collected from the National Gallery, 4 key informants, 600 student sample group and collected secondary data from the documents. The results in this section are design guidelines and related factors. Design guidelines are positive environment elements and some of the physical stimuli that have a positive influence to increase physical attributes promoting enjoyment and creativity. These stimuli are the shape (circular), the colour (blue, light blue and orange) the colour light (green, light blue, orange and yellow) and background music (the happy or Inspiration song). The relevant factors: 1) Informal space for fun 2) Economical and easy to prepare 3) Closed space for controlling the inside environment elements. Phase 2: develop a space design for art activities that enhance enjoyment and creativity from information obtained from phase 1. The designs are a furniture layout plan and 3 models of 3D perspectives which is a different characteristic. Design 1; having a low-level of positive environmental characteristic (composed by the primary positive environment elements), design 2; having medium-level positive environmental characteristic (composed by the environment elements of design 1 and more stimulus: shape and colour), and design 3; having high-level positive environmental characteristic (composed by the environment elements of design 2 and more stimulus: colour light and sound). All 3 designs of the design draft have passed the quality assessment. These three designs were created in the real area to test and compare the enhancing of enjoyment and creativity resulting from 120 participated students (40 students per design). Three designs were compared enjoyment and creativity by statistics, multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA). The results showed that students who participated in design 2 and 3 were enjoyer and more creative than students who participated in activities in design 1 at .05 significantly. From the area quality assessment after using the area by the students found that design 2 and 3 were very appropriate. Moreover, the results of the certification by 5 experts had certified that the art activities area from design 2 and 3 were very appropriate for the National Gallery. Finally, the model of the art activity area, in this case, was generated from design 2 principally.
