Abstract:
Nowadays, eco-material is important especially on construction materials. This work aims to modify a natural rubber with phosphorescent materials for using in luminescent road. The luminescent road refers to the road which can glow in the dark. There are two parts in this research, which consists of studying physical properties of rubber compound and investigating the glowing characteristic of the composites. The effect of phenolic resin on physical properties as adhesion, hardness, abrasion resistance of rubber compound was studied. There are two preparing methods for dispersing the phosphors as follows: (i) direct blending method (ii) indirect blending method. The effect of phosphorescent materials and mixing method on the decay behavior of the composites was investigated. The results showed that phosphor concentration and mixing method had no influence on the decay behavior of the composites, while the increasing of phosphors concentrations tends to improve the decay parameters of the composites
