An Analytical Study of Relative Clauses Used in the Story of Bristol Murder by Philip Prowse
Abstract:
This thesis is entitled An Analytical Study of Relative Clauses Used in the Story of Bristol Murder by Philip Prowse. It has three objectives: (1) To study the history and importance of the story of Bristol Murder. (2) To analyze the types and functions of relative clauses in the story of "Bristol Murder" by Philip Prowse. (3) To show the frequency of use of the relative clauses in the story of "Bristol Murder" by Philip Prowse.
According to the first objective, to study the history and importance of the story of Bristol Murder. According to the second objective, to analyze the types and functions of relative clauses in the story of "Bristol Murder" by Philip Prowse, and According to the third objective, to show the frequency of use of the relative clauses in the story of "Bristol Murder" by Philip Prowse. This study used the qualitative research in nature focusing on a documentary method by reading and studying some books concerning the topic of the problem.
The information was taken from two major sources, including Writing Academic English, and the Story of Bristol Murder. The Story of "Bristol Murder" by Philip Prowse was analyzed by using the three criteria mentioned above. The findings of this study were as follows: (1) Relative Pronoun as Subject, (2) Relative Pronoun as Object, (3) Possessive Relative Clause, (4) Relative Pronoun as Object of Preposition, (5) Relative Pronoun In Phrases of Quantity and Quality, (6) Adverbial Relative Clause.
