Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to 1) to study the problems of English speaking of grade 12 students at Paktha Secondary School in Laos; 2) to analyze the problems of English speaking of grade 12 students at Paktha Secondary School in Laos; 3) to propose the ways to solve the problems of English speaking of grade 12 students at Paktha Secondary School in Laos.
This research consists of both a quantitative and a qualitative research, the population of 104 respondents and 5 key informants. Therefore English speaking is the most fundamental communication of all the people around the world as well as the students at Paktha secondary school, were faced many difficulties in speaking English, as follows:
The result of the problems was found that the most important thing of the respondents was that they spoke English in very short period, as one day a week at school and so that is why they lacked of confidence to speak English with teachers, friends, foreigners and others.
The ways to solve the problems were found that students should make self-motivation to speak English by using various things to support them on learning English speaking such as; reading more English books, listening to English music, watching English movies, practicing with friends, teachers and other people.
