Abstract:
The purposes of this study were: 1) to study the elements and indicators of child rights in secondary schools by studying laws, regulations, and research which related to child rights. 2) to study of child rights promotion in secondary schools by studying 4 prototype schools to promote the child rights. Research instrument was structured interview using data analysis by synthesizing and analyzing content. It was found that 1) The composition of the child rights had 4 elements, with 21 indicators. Consisted of 4 indicators in survival rights were students had good physical and mental health, students were not subject to punishment that affects the body and mind, students received attention and helped in the event of illness, discomfort or disability, and students received comprehensive health promotion. The elements to get the protection rights; there were 8 indicators: students were not treated unfairly, students were not used to violence, students were not intimidated in all forms, students received equal opportunities and practice by taking into their profits, students did not use drugs that contained toxic substances, bad things, gambling, quarrels and pornography, students were not sexually exploited, students were not sought for benefits in all cases and students received help or assistance with appropriate methods. The right elements to receive physical development were knowledge, morality, ethics and life skills. Students developed from family and school participation, and from organizing individual student database systems by using information for the protection of child rights and the participation rights which had 5 indicators; students expressed their expression, assertiveness and participation in expressing opinions in the correct and appropriate way, students participated in the examination and improvement of the rules or regulations of schools, students participated in teaching and learning activities, students respect the rights and freedoms of others in the democratic way, and students participated in being a good member of the families and communities and 2) The promotion of child rights in secondary schools had a total of 31 important activities.
