DEVELOPMENT OF TEACHING AND LEARNING ACTIVITIES IN THAI LANGUAGE SUBJECT USING PROJECT-BASED LEARNING TO DEVELOP SOCIAL SKILLS OF PRTHOMSUKSA 4 STUDENTS
Abstract:
ABSTRACT
This research has the objectives as follows: 1) to develop the teaching and learning activities of the Thai Language subject by using Project-Based Learning (PBL) to develop social skills on Prathomsuksa 4 students for efficiency according to the 80/80 criteria; 2) to compare the learning achievement of students between before and after learning by using PBL to develop social skills of Prathomsuksa 4 students; 3) to study social skills of Prathomsuksa 4 students by organizing the Thai Language teaching activities using PBL: 3.1) To study social the skill level by using PBL to develop social skills of Prathomsuksa 4 Students and 3.2) to study the relative development of Prathomsuksa 4 Students by teaching and learning activities in the Thai Language subject using PBL. The sample group was the Prathomsuksa 4/3 of 33 students at Wat That (Thammada Kitchanusorn) School under the Office of Roi Et Primary Educational Service Area 2. The study was an experimental research. Tools used in this research were 4 type and function of words in the sentence of lesson plans for activities in teaching the Thai Language subject by using PBL to improve social skills of Prathomsuksa 4 students; 28 items of learning proficiency test of type and function of words in sentences, and 15 items of the social skills assessment on Prathomsuksa 4 students. Statistics used in data analysis were mean, standard deviation, and t-test.
The research results found that;
1. Organizing of teaching and learning activities in the Thai Language subject using PBL to develop social skills in Prathomsuksa 4 students were 83.94/84.21, which higher than the proficiency criteria.
2. Prathomsuksa 4 students received the Thai Language subject teaching activities by using the PBL to develop social skills achieved higher score from the test after studying than before learning with statistical significance at the level of 0.05.
3. Prathomsuksa 4 students who learned by PBL in organizing the Thai Language subject teaching activities have social skills at the highest level ( = 4.53, S.D. = 0.12). and the average relative gain score (R.G.) of social skills is 32.52
