Abstract: เพลงปลุกใจเป็นสิ่งที่เกิดขึ้นและมีใช้อยู่ในทุกสังคม โดยมีจุดมุ่งหมายในการใช้ตลอดจนลักษณะของเพลงที่แกตกต่างกันไปในแต่ละประเทศแต่ละสังคม ลักษณะทั่วไปของเพลงปลุกใจในสังคมต่างๆ ที่มีความคล้ายคลึงกันก็คือ การปลุกใจให้เกิดความรักชาติ ภักดีต่อชาติ และต้องการรักษาชาติไว้ ซึ่งมักจะมีจำนวนไม่มากนัก แต่ในสังคมไทยกลับมีเพลงปลุกใจอยู่เป็นจำนวนมากและมีเนื้อหาที่หลากหลาย เนื้อหาเหล่านี้ของเพลงปลุกใจมีความสัมพันธ์อย่างใกล้ชิดกับสภาพการณ์ต่างๆ ของไทย ทั้งทางการเมือง เศรษฐกิจ และสังคม ในแต่ละยุคแต่ละสมัย นับตั้งแต่ พ.ศ.2475 เป็นต้นมา จนถึงปี 2525 โดยได้ชี้ให้เห็นถึกงการชักชวนให้ประชาชนเกิดความรู้สึกนึกคิด มีทัศนคติ หรือมีการกระทำอย่างใดอย่างหนึ่งที่เป็นการสนับสนุนระบบการเมืองที่เป็นอยู่ การชักชวนโดยใช้เพลงปลุกใจนี้เป็นการรรวมเอาลักษณะทางดนตรีมาใช้ให้เป็นประโยชน์ด้วย คือ ทำนองเพลง จังหวะ การใช้เครื่องดนตรี ฯลฯ นอกเหนือไปจากเนื้อหาของเพลงซึ่งสื่อความหมายได้ชัดเจนที่สุด การวิจัยถึงเนื้อหาของเพลงปลุกใจในวิทยานิพนธ์เรื่องนี้จึงเน้นที่การวิเคราะห์ภาษาที่ใช้ในเพลงปลุกใจไทยและการสื่อความหมายของภาษาที่ใช้เหล่านี้ ตลอดจนลักษระทางดนตรีของเพลง เช่น ทำนอง จังหวะ การใช้เครื่องดนตรี ฯลฯ โดยพิจารณาควบคู่ไปกับสภาพการณ์ทางการเมืองไทยตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ.2475 ถึง พ.ศ.2525 การวิจัยเริ่มขึ้นจากการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูล คือเพลงปลุกใจไทยตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ.2475-2525 โดยการรวบรวมไว้ในภาคผนวกของวิทยานิพนธ์เรื่องนี้ รวมทั้งนวบนวมปีที่แต่งของเพลงปลุกใจทุกๆ เพลงแล้วนำมาวิเคราะห์ตามวิธีวิเคราะห์เนื้อหาในแต่ละเพลงจนครบ เพื่อหาค่าความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างตัวแปรต่างๆ ในเพลงเปรียบเทียบกับสภาพการณืทางการเมืองไทยในแต่ละสมัย ผลของการวิจัยพบว่า จำนวนเพลงปลุกใจไทยที่เกิดขึ้นตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ.2475-2525 มีอยู่ถึง 448 เพลง นอกจากนี้ยังมีเพลงปลุกใจที่สูญหายไปเป็นจำนวนมาก แสดงให้เห็นว่าประเทศไทยได้มีการใช้เพลงปลุกใจเป็นจำนวนมาก โดยเพลงปลุกใจต่างๆ เหล่านี้ได้ออกมาเพื่อตอบสนองต่อสถานการณ์ที่แตกต่างกันไป คือแต่ละเพลงมีวัตถุประสงค์ในการชักชวนให้ประชาชนเกิดความรู้สึกนึกคิดและให้มีการกระทำอย่างใดอยางหนึ่งที่แตกต่างกันออกไปในแต่ละสถานการณ์ และพบว่าในช่วงปี พ.ศ.2481-2487 และ พ.ศ.2490-2500 ซึ่งมี จอมพล ป. พิบูลสงคราม เป็นนายกรัฐมนตรีนั้น มีการใช้เพลงปลุกใจเป็นจำนวนมากที่สุด เมื่อเปรียบเทียบกับช่วงเวลาของรัฐบาลอื่นๆ สำหรับแนวทางชองเนื้อหาเพลงปลุกใจนั้นส่วนใหญ่คงมีความคล้ายคลึงกัน คือ ชักชวนให้รักชาติ ภักดีต่อชาติและกระทำทุกวิถีทางเพื่อรักษาชาติให้อยู่รอดและเจริญก้าวหน้าต่อไป โดยเน้นถึงสิ่งต่างๆ หรือคุณค่าต่างๆ ที่แตกต่างกันออกไปตามสถานการณ์ แต่ในเรื่องของลักษณะเพลง เช่น ทำนอง จังหวะ การใช้เครื่องดนตรี ฯลฯ นั้น มีการเปลี่ยนแปลงปรับปรุงไปในทางที่ดีขึ้นตลอดมา และจากการแบ่งระดับของเพลงปลุกใจออกตามจุดมุ่งหมายในการใช้เป็นเพลงปลุกใจระดับชาติ ระดับกองทัพ และระดับกองกำลัง ก็พบว่า เนื้อหาของเพลงปลุกใจในระดับชาตินั้นผูกพันอยู่กับความเป็นชาติ ประวัติศาสตร์และวีรชนต่างๆ ในขณะที่เพลงระดับกองทัพผูกพันอยู่กับสถานการณ์รบของแต่ละเหล่าทัพ และเพลงในระดับกองกำลังผูกพันอยู่กับการชักชวนให้เกิดความสามัคคีต่อกัน ในแง่ของผู้แต่งเพลงนั้น พบว่า เพลงปลุกใจส่วนใหญ่เกิดขึ้ยจากผู้แต่งตั้งแต่ 2 คนขึ้นไป และไม่พบความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างผู้แต่งเพลงกับเนื้อหาของเพลง แต่เนื้อหาของเพลงมีความสัมพันธ์กับแก่นสารของเพลงนั้นๆ อย่างใกล้ชิด นอกจากนี้การพิจารณาถึงภาษา สำนวน และการใช้คำในเพลงปลุกใจ แสดงให้เห็นว่าเนื้อหาของเพลงปลุกใจไทยนั้นมีส่วนส่งเสริมการปกครองระบอบปชะชาธิปไตย และส่งเสริมวัฒนธรรมทางการเมืองแบบประชาธิปไตย ซึ่งจะเป็นประโยชน์ต่อการเมืองไทยและการพัฒนาทางการเมืองของไทย โดยเพลงปลุกใจได้มีการพัฒนาแนวทาง เนื้อหา และแก้ไขข้อบกพร่องต่างๆ ของเนื้อหามานับตั้งแต่ปี 2511 โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งหลังปี 2525 ซึ่งเน้นให้มีการเข้ามีส่วนร่วมทางการเมืองของประชาชนมากขึ้น อันเป็นการส่งเสริมการพัฒนาทางการเมืองของไทยให้ไปสู่ระบอบประชาธิปไตยที่แท้จริงต่อไปในอนาคต

Abstract: Patriotic songs are found and used extensively in every society. However, the purposes and the characteristics of them vary in each group or country. But they still have one thing in common, that is, to encourage patriotism, loyalty and the need to protect the nation. Normally, each community has only a few of them. But Thailand is an exception, for we have quite a large number of patriotic songs with different themes. Not surprisingly, themes relate closely to the changing situations in Thailand, concerning politics, economics and the society as a whole. Anyway, they still serve the same objective, that is, to arouse and encourage the Thai people to think and perform in accordance with the policy of the government at the moment. These ideas are presented on the form of songs which have their own attributes. In addition to the words clearly expressing the concepts, they also use the melody, the rhythm and the instrumentation to appeal the emotions of the listeners. The researcher thus made is to analyze not only the themes and the language used - whilst including the definition and the musical quality of the melody, the rhythm and the instrumentation, etc. in Thai patriotic songs but also their relationship to the political situations of the country during the period from 1932-1982. The analysis begins with data collection, namely, Thai patriotic songs during this period and the specific year in which each one was composed which are included in Appendix of this thesis. Then we analyze theoretically the theme in each song, looking for any clue or variation with relation to the political conditions of the period. Finally came the results. The record of Thai patriotic songs composed during the year 1932-1985 that can be traced is 448. This indicates that we have had such a remarkable record of patriotic songs to serve various objectives. Each song aimed at persuading Thai people to think and act in particular way which differed according to several circumstances. For example, during the period from 1938-1944 and 1947-1957 when Premier General P. Piboonsongkram was the Prime Minister, most patriotic songs were composed when compared with other periods. Nonetheless, the themes of these songs are quite one way or another to those of other regimes. They encouraged the people to love, be loyal and willing to do whatever possible for the protection and development of the country with the emphasis on certain values to suit a particular circumstance. As for the musical nature, such as the melody, the rhythm and the instrumentation used, there is a clear evidence of regular and gradual improvement. Considering the purposes, patriotic songs can be classified into 3 categories, namely, at national level, at service level and at group level. Those at national level undoubtedly tell either the history or the heroic deeds bravely performed by our ancestors while those at service level show the strength, the fightings and the efficiency of certain units, usually the armed services. And to even lesser degree, the patriotic songs belonging to group level encourage the unity of any group. As for the composers of Thai patriotic songs, it is found that most of them are composed by 2 or more composers, but there is no clear evidence that any relationship exists between the composers and the themes of the songs. Still, the words of the songs tend to be closely related to the themes. Moreover, considering the language, the expressions and the choices of words used in the songs, we discover that most of them support democracy and democratic political climate. This is unquestionably to our political advantage and really helps with the development of the country. Since 1973, Thai patriotic songs have gradually improved their trends and themes as well as the correction of any ineffective elements, especially after 1982 when the people have been highly encouraged to participate in more and more political activities which is the very first stepping stone to a better democratic system in the future.
