Abstract:
This study aimed 1) to study state of teachers development in curriculum and learning management in private schools under Buriram Provincial Education Office, 2) to compare teachers opinion toward teachers development in curriculum and learning management in private school under Buriram Provincial Education Office, classified by experience and teaching level; and 3) to study guidelines for developing teachers in curriculum and learning management in private schools under Buriram Provincial Education Office. Two phases were implemented in this study. Phase 1 was to study and compare state of teachers development in curriculum and learning management in which the sample consisted of 254 teachers, selected by stratified sampling. Questionnaire was used to collect the data and the data were analyzed by using percentage, mean and standard deviation. The hypothesis was tested by using t-test and the analysis of variance in term of one-way ANOVA. Phase 2 was to study guidelines for developing teachers in curriculum and learning management. Five experts selected by purposive sampling were interviewed by using interview form. The data were analyzed by using content analysis.
The findings were as follows :
1. State of teacher development in curriculum and learning management in private schools under Buriram Provincial Education Office was, in overall and each aspect, at a high level. The aspect with the highest average was learning assessment and evaluation while the application and development of technological innovation media for learning management was at the lowest level.
2. Comparison of teachers opinion toward teachers development in curriculum and learning management classified by experience, in overall aspect, was not differences. When considering in each aspect, it was found that learning assessment and evaluation was significantly different at .05, while other aspect were not different. In addition, no difference was found when comparing teachers opinion according to teaching level, in each and overall aspect.
3. The guidelines for developing teachers in curriculum and learning management according to experts opinion revealed that 1) curriculum should be adjusted to the context of the school, 2) data of individual student should be studied in order to plan challenging learning management, 3) learning resources should be provided inside and outside the classroom, 4) instructional media should be vary and appropriately created and 5) assessment and evaluation should be constructed based on the learning standards.
