The development of indicators for montessori management program in Thai schools
Abstract:
The purposes of this study were to construct proper essentials indicators for
Montessori management program in Thai schools and to provide recommendations to
school policy makers and administrators for Montessori program implementation and
sustainable. The sample size was 340 teachers, administrators and parents who
involved in Montessori management program in schools. The research tool was a
questionnaire consisted of two parts. The research tool was validated by five experts.
To analyse the data, LISREL program was used.
The results of this research revealed that:
1. The modified model fit well with the empirical data and the casual model
of factors contributed to development of the indicators for Montessori management
program in Thai schools had significant contribution.
2. The 22 main and 87 sub indicators of four quality areas on Montessori
prepared adults, Montessori prepared learning environment, Montessori curriculum
planning, implementation and assessment, commitment to improvement, leadership,
vision and child advocacy had been accepted at highest and high criteria. The top
ranking of highest criteria was the main indicator for Montessori prepared learning
environment of the environment is aesthetic, well maintained, ordered and provides
enticement to activities while the program build in uninterrupted daily work periods,
considering three hours work cycle as idea, and integrates any specially programs
around this period was rank high which was rank at last of the list.
3. The highest main indicators mean score on each of quality area were;
Adults serve as role model, the environment is aesthetic, well maintained, Ordered
and provides enticement to activities, All aspects were guided by Montessori principle
and Montessori parent education program that promote understanding of the
Montessori curriculum and education as and aid to life.
4. The second factor confirmatory analysis for the prepared learning
environment had the highest factor loading coefficient as 0.98.
