Abstract:
This study was cross- sectional survey research. The objective of the research was to study the level of job happiness and associated factors of the primary care personnel in Samutprakarn province. The sample was 369 primary care personnel at the primary care level of the Samutprakarn Provincial Public Health Office, Ministry of Public Health. The research tool was a questionnaire, with data collected from 1st to 31st August 2555 BE. Data were statistically analyzed by using Chi square and Multiple Logistic Regression Analysis. The study found that the overall level of job happiness of the primary care personnel was somewhat high, and the predictors which showed statistical significance (p-value < 0.05) were: job position, duration of work, family income, job characteristics and work environment. Family income, job characteristics, job significance and work environment could co-predict the possibility of having a high level of job happiness and account for 25% of the variance (R{u100B36} = 0.25). Research recommendations are: the administrators should recognize the importance of the officers of all positions, by realizing their jobs significance is contributing to the benefit of the public, providing a working environment conducive to the development of the potentiality of the officers, and providing appropriate salary and fringe benefits for their daily living. There should also be periodic study of their job happiness to be used as input to plan for their sustainable job happiness.
