Abstract:
This research aims to develop an education guide for primary school students to be used in conjunction with a visit to the exhibition of dinosaur fossils at Sirindhorn Museum. Qualitative research using both content analysis and inductive analysis was adopted to establish the foundation of core knowledge based on a student-centered approach using the constructivism theory. By studying the information provided by the museum, the researcher developed a mind-mapping structure for the guide; then the lesson plans and activities. The content of the lessons and activities were based on six topics to create young paleontologists. Examples in the thesis place an emphasis on the excavation process of dinosaur fossils in the northeastern part of Thailand. This will make the students more aware of the important discoveries in their hometown. Learning about dinosaurs from their fossils will also help students learn about rocks and the changes in the earths crust, which are included in the research. The evaluation of the students learning process focuses on their competency and performance. They should be able to integrate their knowledge of dinosaurs with other subjects in school, and at the same time feel proud of their hometown. This guide can be applied both in and outside the school education system, or as needed.
