Abstract:
This research studies the participation of village police volunteers in crime prevention. The social bond theory is used to analyze data and try to seek ways to improve the operation. This research used data collected from 300 people from three sub-districts of the village police in the Khonkaen provincial administrative organization, including Baankor sub-district, Sumran sub-district, Nonton sub-district and Moung Khonkaen district. Data was analyzed using e frequency, percentage, arithmetic average, standard deviation, analysis of variance (ANOVA) and multiple classification analysis (MCA) The results showed that participation in crime prevention, including joint activities with neighbors and the police, is at a high level. The social bond theory, including Attachment with locals is at a high level and participation with locals is at the highest level. Long duration of working as a volunteer is at a high level. Background of victimization, both with self as a victim and relative as a victim, are at the lowest level. It was concluded that participation in crime prevention, social bond theory, long duration working as a volunteer and the background of victimization affect setting check points and arrests at 43.6 % (Multiple R = .436)
