The Effects of Using Cartoon Pictures Activity Sets According to the Concept of Six Thinking Hats Questions to Develop Creative Writing for Prathomsuksa 3 Students
Abstract:
The aims of this research were 1) to study cartoon pictures activity sets according to the concept of six thinking hats questions to develop creative writing for Prathomsuksa 3 students, for achieving a criteria set of 80/80, 2) to compare a learning achievement creative writing before and after learning through the cartoon pictures activity sets according to the concept of six thinking hats questions to develop creative writing for Prathomsuksa 3 students, 3) to investigate an effectiveness index of learning through the cartoon pictures activity sets according to the concept of six thinking hats questions to develop creative writing for Prathomsuksa 3 students, and 4) to explore the satisfaction of the student towards learning through the cartoon pictures activity sets according to the concept of six thinking hats questions to develop creative writing for Prathomsuksa 3 students. The samples were 17 students selected from Prathomsuksa 3 students of Mittaphabnonsomboon School, Nongki district, Buriram province, via simple random sampling method. The classroom was set as a sampling unit. The research instruments consisted of 1) 12 cartoon pictures activity sets according to the concept of six thinking hats questions to develop creative writing for Prathomsuksa 3 students, 2) 12 lesson plans of the cartoon pictures activity according to the concept of six thinking hats questions to develop creative writing for sets Prathomsuksa 3 students, 3) a 6-item learning achievement test to assess creative writing and 4) a 5-rating scale questionnaire about student satisfaction towards the cartoon pictures activity sets according to the concept of six thinking hats questions to develop creative writing for Prathomsuksa 3 students, including 20 items. The statistics used for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation (SD.), E1 /E2, and E.I. values. The hypothesis was carried out employing t-test approach with dependent samples.
The results of this investigation were as follows :
1. The cartoon pictures activity sets according to the concept of six thinking hats questions to develop creative writing for Prathomsuksa 3 students was 87.57/84.61 which higher than the criteria set of 80/80.
2. The learning achievement of using cartoon pictures activity sets according to the concept of six thinking hats questions to develop creative writing for Prathomsuksa 3 students was higher than that before using those skill exercises with statistically significant difference at level of .05
3. The effectiveness index of learning by utilizing the cartoon pictures activity sets according to the concept of six thinking hats questions to develop creative writing for Prathomsuksa 3 students was 0.7378, which meant that the learning achievement increased to 0.7378 or 73.78% .
4. The satisfaction of the students towards learning via the cartoon pictures activity sets according to the concept of six thinking hats questions to develop creative writing for Prathomsuksa 3 students was at a high level.
