Abstract:
The purposes of this study were to examine and compare a level of opinions among business shop owners towards quality of service provided by Pattaya Floating Market Company as classified by educational level, average amount of income, length of lease, length of business operation, location of shops, and types of merchandise sold. The instrument used to collect the data was a questionnaire. The subjects participating in this study were 157 business shop owners who have rented unmovable merchandise stalls at Pattaya Floating Market. The statistical tests used to analyze the collected data included frequency, percentage, means, standard deviation, ttest, and One-way ANOVA. The Least Significant Difference (LSD) test was administered to test the differences between pairs. The results of the study revealed that the majority of business shop owners held a high school certificate or a bachelors degree, earning 50,001-100,000 baht per month, having 1 yearrental contract, and having operated their business for 1-2 years. Most of the shops are located in a phase 1 area. The majority of the subjects sold clothes and ornaments. In addition, it was shown that the level of the business shop owners towards the quality of service provided by Pattaya Floating Market Company was at a high level. No statistically significant differences were found in the level of opinions among the subjects who had different educational level, length of business operation, type of merchandise sold, and location of merchandise stalls. Finally, there were statistically significant differences in the level of opinions among the subjects who had different average monthly income and length of lease at a significant level of .05.
