Abstract:
The purposes of this study were to examine and compare community leaders attributes based on stakeholders opinions in Dansumrong Sub-district Municipality, Amphoe Mueang, Samut Prakan Province as classified by personal factors. The population participating in this study was 167 employees working for Dansumrong Sub-district Municipality and community leaders who were appointed by the mayor of Dansumrong Sub-district Municipality. The instrument used to collect the data was a questionnaire with an index of item-objective congruence (IOC) of 1.00 and was verified for its content validity by three experts and was then tried out. The statistical tests used to analyze the collected data included frequency, percentage, means, and standard deviation. Also, the community leaders attributes were compared based on the stakeholders opinions. The results of this study revealed that the community leaders attributes based on stakeholders opinions in Dansumrong Sub-district Municipality, Amphoe Mueang, Samut Prakan Province were rated at a high level. When considering each aspect of attributes, the one in relation to loyalty was rated the highest, followed by the aspects of enthusiasm, modesty, patience, knowledge, human relationship, justice and honesty, bravery, determination, and creativity, respectively. In addition, based on the results from the comparisons, it was shown that the female subjects demonstrated a higher level of opinions towards the community leaders attributes than their male counterparts. Also, the subjects, aged below 30, had a higher level of opinions towards the community leaders attributes than other age groups. The subjects having a work length of 4-6 years had a higher level of opinions towards the community leaders attributes than those with other years of work length. In addition, the subjects earning 15,001-20,000 baht a month had a higher level of opinions towards the community leaders attributes than those with other amounts of monthly income. The subjects who were divorced/ separated had a higher level of opinions towards the community leaders attributes than those holding other marital status. Furthermore, the subjects earning a diploma/ higher vocational certificate had a higher level of opinions towards the community leaders attributes than those holding other educational degrees. Finally, the subjects holding a position of government officials had a higher level of opinions towards the community leaders attributes than those with other work positions.
