Abstract:
The purposes of this study were to examine a level of public opinion toward quality of service provided by Excise Office in Trat provincial area and to compare the level of public opinion towards quality of public service as classified by gender, age, occupation, amount of income, and educational level. The data were collected from 368 people who used service at Excise Office in Trat provincial area. These subjects were recruited by Yamanes formula (1973). The test of t-test was administered to compare the differences between independent variables with two groups. Also, the test of One-way ANOVA was used to compare the differences among variables with three groups onwards. The results of this study revealed that the subjects expressed the highest level of opinion toward quality of service given by Excise Office in Trat provincial area. When considering each aspect of quality of service, the one in relation to customer empathy was rated at the highest level, followed by the aspects of tangibility, assurance, reliability, and responsiveness to customers, respectively. All of these quality aspects were rated at a very good level. Based on the results from the test of hypotheses, there were statistically significant differences in level of public opinion towards quality of service provided by Excise Office in Trat provincial area among the subjects with different gender, occupation, amount of income, and educational level. Finally, no statistically significant difference in level of public opinion was found toward quality of service provided by Excise Office in Trat provincial area among the subjects with different age.
