Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to study the management of 13 listed companies in the Stock Exchange of Thailand which were awarded Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) in 2015. This study uses qualitative research approach to gain an understanding and an explanation of these companies corporate managements. Data are collected from the companies annual reports, websites and sustainability reports and are then analyzed by content analysis and thematic analysis. The two analyzes were performed by the descriptive statistics. The results show that the companies visions focus more on economy than society and environment. The structure of the sustainability committees and their members knowledge, experience and performance are the curtail factors in promoting sustainable development. In order to bring benefits to customers, society and environment with their continuous growth and good financial performance, the companies have all dimensions of strategies which help them use sustainable development to drive their business. Risk management is employed as a tool for the operations at all levels. In addition, the companies clearly identify stakeholders of their businesses. The companies disclose information about their operations for sustainability through their websites, annual reports and sustainability reports. Disclosing this information helps them have a good image."
