Abstract:
This study aims to propose marketing strategies for establishing a homestay in Tamaoh Community, Lampang. The strategies are based on Medlik and Ingrams (2000) hospitality marketing concepts and Bowie and Buttles (2004) hospitality product. 2,294 comments from www.booking.com are analyzed in order to develop a questionnaire. Data from 372 questionnaires are finally analyzed by descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, factor analysis and regression analysis. It is found that before establishing a homestay in Tamaoh Community, Lampang, an entrepreneur needs to be concerned about price competiveness. Therefore, a luxury homestay may be necessary. In addition, marketing strategies for influencing customers purchase intention should lead to their satisfactions. In doing so, a homestay should 1) be fully equipped and clean, 2) be located in a quiet area, and close to tourist attractions and transportation, 3) have safe and good value for price and a good image and 4) have a clean bed set, Wi-Fi and a parking lot.
