Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to investigate the people's participation in local political election in Pakham subdistrict municipality, Pakham District, Buriram Province in 3 aspects: voting campaign, voting right, and election inspection. The samples were 361 people, selected by using the Table of Krejcie & Morgan, and simple random sampling, respectively. The research instrument used for collecting the data was a 3-part questionnaire, including check list, 5-rating scale, and open-ended form with its reliability at 0.9201. The statisties used for analyzing the collected data were percentage, mean, and standard deviation.
The findings were as follows:
1. The people's participation in local political election in Pakham subdistrict municipality, Pakhanm District, Buriram Province both as a whole and at each aspect were at "moderate" levels. The voting evaluation was reported as the highest mean score. The voting campaign, and the voting right were reported as the lowest mean score.
2. The additional opinions and suggestions with highest percentages were the voting campaign should be done before the local election, followed bychances should be provided to people to participate in local election and all elections should be legally inspected by the people according to the voting law, respectively.
