Abstract:
This dissertation entitled A standard means in shaping the administration of the ecclesiastical Pãli School in Thailand has three objectives: 1) to study the history and administration of ecclesiastical Pãli School in Thailand, 2) to study the model of administration of ecclesiastical Pãli School possessing high effectiveness in Thailand, and 3) to propose the middle standard criterion in shaping the administration of ecclesiastical Pãli School possessing high effectiveness to other schools in Thailand. This is a qualitative research.
In the study, it was found that with respect to the middle standard criteria for shaping the administration of ecclesiastical Pãli School in Thailand, they were concluded as follows: as regards the curriculum, it is very important to the process of learning and teaching being effectively applied in daily life, in the part of teachers, they should be punctual, in order to support this process, the program in getting teachers developed in Pãli should be implemented, apart from this, the suitable introduction to the lessons of learning should be properly made, in forming the process of learning, before leaning any topic, its objective should be informed in advance, as regards the activities, it showed that all students paid proper attention to the interesting and benefiting activities as a part of development, in the evaluative process, it showed that basic knowledge should be tested before study, in the media relating to learning and teaching, it showed that they are very important to the learning and teaching processes, in this research, the modern media which are relevant to the contents of the learning and teaching processes were not found; the modern and relevant media should be provided so that they can help students understand the lesson and thereby making them aware of the value in learning Pãli.
When it comes to the middle standard criteria in shaping the administration of ecclesiastical school of Pãli possessing high effectiveness, it was found that in the interview and observation in the field of the administration of ecclesiastical school of Pãli given by the directors of those schools, five dimensions were found as follows: in general conditions relating to schools, the management of schools were individually and conditionally done by those administrators, the same standard curriculum of the courses were found all over the country, in the processes of learning and teaching, teachers in each school have specific skills, experiences and techniques, in the media used in learning and teaching, many schools have already introduced the various media while learning and teaching which were more than the past, in the examination and evaluation, the middle standard criteria have been mostly utilized focusing on memorization, many regional ecclesiastical schools of Pãli can provide only the first and second level of study, not high level, therefore, many students always move to Bangkok wherein the education in that level can be met with. In this matter, the middle standard criteria should involve the following categories: scopes of study, the suitable environment conducive to study, the appropriate accommodations for studying the ecclesiastical schools of Pãli.
