A Study of the Approach of Teaching the Buddhist Subject Towards the Development of the Students Morality in Vithibuddha School : Anuban Banpia Mitapap The138 School in Maungpear Sub-District, Kutjab District, Udonthani Province
Abstract:
The purposes of the research entitled Udonthani Province: were; 1) to study the condition of problems in Vithibuddha school in Banpearmittapap school at 138, 2) to study the teaching the Buddhist subject in Vithibuddha School towards the development of students morality in Banpearmittapap School at 138 and 3) to study the approach of teaching the Buddhist subject for the development of students morality in Banpearmittapap 138. This research was the quantitative research mixed together with the qualitative research. The collection of data was received from various documents to be the theory of the research. The key informants used for research consisted of 37 subjects from using the questionnaires and interviews and to report the results of data analysis by using quantitative method and the descriptive analysis.
The Banpearmittapap school at 138 is one of Vithibuddha schools to apply the principle of Buddhist teachings for various activities in order to create the youths or students in the educational institutes to be good quality and to protect the various problems that occur to the youths such as the criminal problems, sexual misconduct problems etc. Vithibuddha Schools emphases the educational administration as a concrete in various aspects, that is, the structure of administration, the curriculum of learning and teaching, activities for learning and teaching, teachers, and students. Every activity focuses on the teachers and students as the importance including the evaluation of the achievement for the students in managing the learning and teaching such as to use the media to teach the Buddhist history may use V.D. vision, work sheet, Buddhas image, and religious sites etc. in order to make students understand better. In this case, the teachers should have appropriate qualities.
To teach the Buddhist subjects in Vithibuddha school of Banpearmittapap school at 138 was found that the school holds the approach to create the faith for the learners by planting the three Fundamental teachings, that is, not to do badness, to do goodness and to purify the mind by emphasizing the learning occurrence for the students and this school consists of 654 students and 30 administrators and teachers including the Buddhist monks teaching the morality. The majority of students lives in Nonmaung Village and near villages. The problems that school always meets are that to transfer the students, the students adhere to the games, to escape the school to skate around in Muang Khonkaen and the teachers and the parents think that they should cooperate each other to protect and take care of. The Buddhist monks should be assistance of the educational institutes to train, to give the moral knowledge to students. Because of this, the teachers who teach the morality should have the qualities relevant to the Buddhist subject in order to give knowledge to the students in all aspects and to be good example for students. While the structure and the administration of Vithibuddha school in Nonmuang Village can be divided into 4 aspects, that is, general administration, the financial section, the personnel section, and the academic section
The results of the Buddhist subject in Vithibuddha school of Banpearmittapap school at 138 were found that the results of teaching the Buddhist subject, the results of managing the activities enhancing the teaching, the results of learning to practice and the results of doing merit in the holidays of Buddhism are to make students develop themselves in the principle of various Buddhist teachings closely and continuously and to make the students satisfied behaviors , that is, to have more effectiveness in learning and teaching , to know how to adapt themselves in society and in good friends, to know how to control their emotions in unwholesome by physical and verbal expression such as not to kill, not to quarrel with friends, not to trouble the parents and the community, to be gratefulness to their parents and education institutes, to be polite, to be joyful, to have loving-kindness to their friends and others, to have an etiquette , to have polite speech, to pay respect to the gratefulness, to respond for the assigned works, to be punctual and to reduce the addicted drugs that destroy the property and the health.
