Abstract:
The purpose of this research were: 1) to study the public service according to Virtues for Lay People of policeman in Muangphrae Police Station, Phrae Province, 2) to study individual factors that affect the public service according to Virtues for Lay People of policeman in Muangphrae Police Station, Phrae Province, 3) to educate the development of the public service according to Virtues for Lay People of policeman in Muangphrae Police Station, Phrae Province.
This study was mixed-method research, a combination of quantitative and qualitative research. Quantitative data were collected by using a questionnaire of the recipients of services the policemen in Muangphrae Police Station, Phrae Province. The sample consisted of 384 local people by using the formula of W.G. Cochran. Data were analyzed by statistics including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation to describe personal characteristics. Hypothesis testing was conducted by using t-test and F-test analysis, One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). A pair of means was compared by using Least Significant difference (LSD). For qualitative research, data were collected from 7 key informants. These key informants were purposively selected from the experts with qualification in accordance with the essence of research. Data collection instruments included structured in depth interview and face-to-face in depth interview. Data were analyzed by descriptive interpretation.
The research found that
1) Overall the samples opinion towards the recipients opinions of the service to the policeman according to Virtues for Lay People in Muangphrae Police Station was rated at high rate level. By considering each aspect, it was found that an aspect with high levels in all parts.
2) The comparison of the public service according to Virtues for Lay People of policeman in Muangphrae Police Station, Phrae Province. The hypothesis was tested by analyzing the different of personal factors such as gender, age, education level, occupation and monthly income. There were found that gender, age, education, occupation and monthly income have no different of opinion. And were rejected the hypothesis. As for ages have different opinions statistically significant at 0.05 levels. There were accepted the hypothesis.
3) The Results of studying the development of public service according to Virtues for Lay People of policeman of Muangphrae Police Station, Phrae Province were found that policeman are supposed to serve with honesty, hospitable, great sacrifice, perform duties without being apprehensive the dread words, facilitate the traffic evenly, hold to regulations strictly, person equality and equally without discrimination.
