Abstract:
The objectives of this experimental study were to construct and assess the efficiencyof modular lessons on Plastic Techniques as given in the Subject of Vocational CertificateProgram 1995. The study could be divided in two parts, 1) the construction of modular lessons, and 2) their assessment by a pretest and posttest design. The lessons consisted of six modules (1)Fundamental knowledge of plastic, (2) Plastic and its kinds, (3) Manufacturing process ofplastic, (4) Process of plastic coating, (5) Plastic inspection procedure and (6) Pollution andsafety in plastic usage. Each of the modules was tried out in three steps: one by one (1:1), smallgroup (1 : 1 O), and field experiment (1 : 100). For field experiment the six modules were testedwith 30 students at Krabi Technical College and the data collected were analyzed to assess theefficiency of these modules. The results showed that the constructed modules had the efficiencyof 82.9 : 83.7, which were a little, less than the set criteria of 85 : 85. The error value of about2.5 % to 5 % was quite low. It was found that there was a significant difference between thepretest to posttest scores at 0.01 level. This indicates that the constructed modular lessons areeffective for the learning of students.
