Abstract:
The Objective of the educational attainment statistics analysis of the 1980 census is to determine the educational level of the Thai-population. Two educational indics, attainment ratio and holding ratio were employed. The analytical statistics computed from the 1980 census was then compared with those of the 197O census. Major findings are as follows ;- 1. The typical educational level of the Thai-population was fourth grade. In the seventies decade, the educational level of Population 15 years of age and over raised from 3.29 to 4.37 grade, which is increasing almost one grade. The educational level of population in every Educational regions increases at the same level to each one another. 2. 76.2 % of the whole kingdom's population 15 years of age and over had attained 4th grade and over ; 15.6 % had no education ; and the Northeastern region had highest percentage of attainment of 85.3 % The Central educational region had highest percentage of population, 30.4 % attaining 4th grade and over. 3. Educational efficiency of the four Educational regions ranking from high to low are the Central, the North, the South and the Northeast region, respectively.
