Abstract:
Purposes: 1. To study the needs for supervision in chemistry instruction of chemistry teachers concerning curriculum, content, teaching methods, instructional materials, measurement and evaluation, supervisory methods, chemistry supervisor, and characteristics of chemistry supervisor 2. To compare the needs for supervision between chemistry teachers who had different experiences and different level. procedure: A questionnaire consists of check lists, rating scales and open-ended questions were constructed by the researcher. The questionnaire was then distributed to 124 chemistry teachers in 60 government secondary schools in Bangkok Metropolis. One hundred and nine of the questionnaires or 87.90 percent were returned. The data was analyzed by means of percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation and t-test. Findings: 1. The needs for supervision of chemistry teachers concerning curriculum, measurement and evaluation and characteristics of chemistry supervisor were at the high level. The needs for supervision of chemistry teachers concerning content, teaching methods, instructional materials, supervisory methods and chemistry supervisor were at the moderate level. 2. The comparisons of the needs for supervision concerning curriculum, content, teaching methods, instructional materials, measurement and evaluation, supervisory methods, chemistry supervisor, and characteristics of chemistry supervisor of chemistry teachers who had different experiences and different level were not significantly different at the 0.05 level in both separately analyzed and totally analyzed.
