Development of instructional package on engineering materials testing laboratory using MIAP learning model for Technological University of Dawei
Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to develop an instructional package for engineering material testing laboratory using MIAP, to evaluate the quality of instructional package by experts, and to determine the efficiency of students by implement with student sampling group. The instructional package was created following ADDIE procedure. The sampling group consists of fifteen under-graduate mechanical engineering students at Technological University of Dawei, Myanmar. The research tools were questionnaire and evaluation sheet with five rating scale questionnaires was used to evaluate quality and find students satisfaction. The evaluation sheet was employed to determine efficiency of instructional package. The developed instructional package consists of tensile and impact testing laboratory. The experts evaluation results showed that instructional package quality was at good level with 4.33 of average value (SD = 0.84). The efficiency E1/E2 of instructional package for tensile and impact testing was 88.33/81 and 94.67/84, respectively. The efficiency results were higher than criteria 80/80. The students satisfaction results were at very good level with 4.60 of average value (SD = 0.54). The comparison of students learning outcome results showed that the sampling group learning outcome was higher that control group at significant value 0.05. Therefore, the developed instructional package can have applied to teach at the class room.
