Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to study and compare the peoples participation in local governance of Khlonghok Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Khlongluang, Pathumthani, classified by personal factors as gender, age, marital status, education level, monthly income, career, period of living, social membership and knowledge about local governance, also to consider problem and constraint of participation in local governance of Khlonghok Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Khlongluang, Pathumthani, by using a questionnaire for gathering data from sample group of 383 people.
The results revealed that mosts of the samples had knowledge in local governance of Khlonghok Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Khlongluang, Pathumthani at a high level and participated in local governance of Khlonghok Subdistrict Administrative Organization at a moderate level ( = 1.11). Considering each aspect, it was found that 2 aspects: voting eligibility aspect ( = 1.38), and attending or participating in the meeting aspect ( = 1.18), were at a moderate level, but the other 2 aspects: working or activity participating aspect ( = 0.97), and auditing aspect ( = 0.85), were at a low level.
From the hypothesis testing found that the people who had different age, education level, career, period of living, and social membership had their participation significantly difference at .05 level both an overall and each aspect. The people who had differently monthly income had their participation significantly difference at .05 level in an overall and each aspect, except the aspect of attending or participating in the meeting. Males and females had their participation significantly difference at .05 level on only 2 aspects: voting eligibility and auditing. The people who had differently marital status had no significantly difference in their participation.
