Development of supplementary books using songs and tales integrating with music core curriculum standards to enhance lower elementary student's morality
Abstract:
The objectives of the research were to: 1) develop supplementary book using songs and tales integrating with music core curriculum standards to enhance early elementary students' morality 2) study young students learning behavior and morality perception. Research and development is the methodology used in this study. Research tools included 1) Supplementary book evaluation form 2) students learning behavior observation form 3) students morality perception observation form. After a selective sampling, there were 18 second graders from Chulalongkorn University School participated in this study.The results are as follows: 1) The researcher have developed 3 supplementary books in 3 different kinds of stories name The shepherd boy and the wolf, The crow and the swan and The chicken star. 2) The results from using the books can be classified in 2 majors of study 2.1) Students learning behavior 2.1.1) The shepherd boy and the wolf ,the result shows that more than 90% of students are understanding and have a correct response for the activity. 2.1.2) The crow and the swan ,the result shows that more than 90% of students are understanding and around 70% have a correct response for the activity. 2.1.3) The chicken star ,the result shows that more than 90% of students are understanding and around 50% have a correct response for the activity. 2.2) Students morality perception in all 3 books the result shows that more than 90% of students choose the correct answer and can share their opinion about morality.
