Abstract:
The objectives of this research were 1) to study the personal factors affecting the decision making process to buy a smartphone in the Bangkok Metropolis 2) to study the marketing mix of services affecting the decision making process to buy a smartphone in the Bangkok Metropolis and 3) to study the brand loyalty affecting the decision making process to buy a smartphone in the Bangkok Metropolis. The population consisted of the people in the Bangkok Metropolis area who used smartphones with an IOS or Android operational system. A sample of 385 respondents was obtained using Cochrans formula, but was increased to be 400 respondents in order to prevent errors. They were selected by multistage sampling. The tool for data collection was a questionnaire with a reliability of 0.85. The data analysis was done using percentage, mean, standard deviation and hypotheses testing by binary logistic regression. The research findings were as follows: 1. The personal factors affecting the decision making process to buy a smartphone in the Bangkok Metropolis were gender, age and income which had regression coefficient of 0.502, 0.619 and 0.787, respectively, at a significance of level of 0.05 (t=4.652, 6.783 and 3.367, respectively). Education level factors did not affect the buying decision. 2. The factor of marketing mix of services affecting the decision making process to buy a smartphone in the Bangkok Metropolis, namely price, channel of distribution, marketing promotion and personnel, had regression coefficients of 0.210, 0.337, 0.417 and 0.215, respectively at a significance of level of 0.05 (t=4.973, 5.732, 3.641 and 2.947, respectively). Products and physical characteristics factors did not affect the buying decision. 3. The level of brand loyalty affecting the decision making process to buy a smartphone in the Bangkok Metropolis was affected by personal interactions with others and repeat. Buying the decision factors which had regression coefficients of 0.141 and 0.273, respectively at a significance of level of 0.05 (t=6.890 and 4.981, respectively).
