Factors relating to the peoples Participation based on the prototype of the sufficiency economy in a Village Project in Bang Sai District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province
Abstract:
The objectives of this research were to 1) study the level of peoples participation based on the prototype of sufficiency economy in a village project of Bang Sai district, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province, 2) compare the peoples participation based on the prototype of sufficiency economy in the village project classified by personal factors, and 3) study the factors relating to the peoples participation based on the prototype of sufficiency economy in the village project. The sample for this research consisted of 119 respondents from a population of 160 households. The sample size was obtained using Krejcie and Morgans table, and it was selected by simple random sampling. The tool for data collection was a 5 level rating scale questionnaire. The statistics used to analyze the data consisted of percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one way ANOVA and persons product moment correlation coefficient. The research findings were as follows: 1) The level of the peoples participation based on the prototype of sufficiency economy in the village project of Bang Sai District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province was, overall, at a high level ( = 3.78). When considering each aspect individually and ranking them from highest to lowest mean, it was found that the aspect of benefits receiving was at a high level ( = 4.45), as were the aspect of operation ( = 3.88), and the aspect of decision making ( = 3.74). The aspect of evaluation was at a moderate level ( = 3.45). 2) The comparisons of the peoples participation based on the prototype of sufficiency economy in the village project classified by personal factors showed that gender, age, education level and monthly income did not, overall and for each individual aspect, produce a significant difference on the peoples participation. One exception was except for occupations, in the aspect of decision making, which produced a significant difference at the 0.05 level. 3) The factors relating to the peoples participation based on the prototype of sufficiency economy in the village project of Bang Sai district, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province, revealed that the aspect of opportunities to participate was, overall, positively related at a high level (r = 0.766). As for each aspect, the aspect of operation and the aspect of benefits receiving both had positive relationships at a high level (r = 0.739 and r = 0.708), at a significance level of 0.01. The other aspects were positively related but at a moderate level.
