Abstract:
This research was conducted for the purpose of studying the administration of Provincial Rural Development Center (PRDC) with emphasis on PRDCs administrative environment, basic factors, process as well as its achievement. The research yielded seven interesting findings : (1) Regarding administrative environment, it was found that most of PRDC officers highly recognized the necessity and usefulness of establishing PEDCs functions did not overlap with existing organizations and that the number of committee was appropriate. (2) Regarding administrative basic factors, it was found that officers background were evaluated as qualified while manpower, facilities, budget and office location were moderately appropriate. (3) Considering administrative process, leadership styles were rated appropriate whereas policies, planning, coordination, morale and motivation, unify of command, reporting and evaluation were rated moderately appropriate. (4) The degree of its achievement was relatively high, after PRDC committee was set up. (5) No statistical difference existed between administrative group and operational group, with regarded to opinion concerning PRDCs environment , basic factors, process and achievement. (6) Comparing between group of heads of province office level 8 and group of heads of province office level 7, significant statistical difference existed only in administrative process. (7) Factors statistically significant related to the PRDC achievement were : support of governors ; the coordination between working committee and PRDC ; and the convenience and accessibility of facilities.
