Abstract:
Excessive body hair growth can affect to mental health and quality of life of women, or even in men. The excessive hair growth in men can lead to a reduction in self-confidence status. Nowadays, there are many techniques used for removing unwanted body hair. Each hair removal technique has some benefits and drawbacks, and some of them may damage to skin. This study was aimed to develop the hair growth retardation product containing soybean extract as the active ingredient. The developed product was further tested for its stability, irritation, preferences and hair growth retardation efficacy in volunteers. The results showed that the developed product had a good stability. The irritation test by using patch test showed no irritation in volunteers. Preferences of the product was in the good range. The product exhibited greater hair growth retardation activity than placebo. This suggested that this product might had potential in a further development in the future.
